The short answer: We sell CBD as a food supplement, because we believe that it has many benefits. While we don’t make any medical claims surrounding our products, we believe that adding CBD to your daily routine promotes general well being by interacting with your endocannabinoid system. CBD has shot up in popularity in recent years due to Charlotte Figi’s story - Charlotte is a young girl who suffered from severe seizures due to Dravet Syndrome, and made a significant recovery, it is believed, due to CBD. The long answer: All humans and mammals have what’s known as the endocannabinoid system in their bodies operating in the central and peripheral nervous systems, allowing the body to communicate with itself whilst properly regulating the way our cell and other systems function. This endocannabinoid system is made up of and fuelled by endocannabinoids, which our bodies naturally produce. When we introduce cannabinoids from the cannabis plant, such as CBD and THC, they interact with the endocannabinoid system in a similar way to our own natural endocannabinoids. While THC interacts directly with the body’s cannabinoid receptors and produces a “high” effect, CBD works on the endocannabinoid system indirectly, instead activating different receptors around the body, including serotonin receptors (regarded by some researchers as being responsible for maintaining mood balance, and preventing anxiety and depression), vanilloid receptors (believed to mediate body temperature, pain perception and inflammation) and adenosine (believed to play a role in promoting sleep and regulation of blood flow to various organs). While research into the further effects of cannabidiol (CBD) is ongoing, we at Truth believe that CBD is a great addition to our diets and daily routines.
This really comes down to personal preference, as well as the reasons why you want to try CBD. Here are the options: 1. Tinctures Tinctures come in dropper bottles and can be taken through a dropper directly into the mouth or mixed into food or drink. Our Tinctures are created using CBD hemp oil and diluted with MCT / coconut oil. All ingredients are top-quality and organic and come in different concentrations; 250mg, 500mg, 1000mg and 1500mg. 2. Liposomes The latest science in absorption bioavailability in CBD consumption in the UK. This scientific breakthrough has dramatically increased the bioavailability of CBD by using natural phospholipids that support cellular health and rapidly deliver CBD oil directly into cells. In other words, each mg of Liposomes CBD is 5-10 times stronger in CBD effectiveness. Our Liposomes come in 100mg and 300mg, and are made with organic-farmed hemp oil CBD. 3. Capsules Capsules are a very effective way to take CBD. They’re designed only to open once they’re in your gut, where they’re absorbed into the bloodstream - none of the potency is lost. Our Capsules come in 10mg and 25mg and contain other phytocannabinoids such as CBG, CBN, CBC, and over 40 naturally-present terpenes. 4. Gummies If you prefer the idea of edibles, gummies are a good way to get CBD into your system. Our Gummies are infused with CDB and are not dipped or coated, so none of the nutrients are lost before they reach your gut.
Hemp is considered very safe, so there shouldn’t be any significant side effects, particularly in small doses. However, as with any food supplement or dietary change, it depends on how your body adapts to it. If you have any questions concerning your health, please consult your doctor. WILL CBD GET ME HIGH?
The short answer: No. The more detailed answer: CBD is non-psychoactive, so you won’t get high from cannabidiol-rich products. On the other hand, THC is a strong psychoactive substance, and will make you feel stoned. Both CBD and THC occur naturally in hemp and cannabis, in higher or lower concentrations depending on the strain and the part of the plant. Hemp contains just tiny traces of THC, while recreational cannabis can contain anything from 2.5% up to a whopping 80% of THC. CBD oil has significant amounts of CBD and little or no THC. THC interacts directly with the body’s cannabinoid receptors, and due to its chemical similarities to one of the body’s natural endocannabinoids, anandamide (also known as the Bliss Molecule) - THC works directly with the same receptors, and results in producing a “high”. CBD works slightly differently, and affects the endocannabinoid system both by directly suppressing the receptors that cause a high, and indirectly by activating other receptors around the body, including serotonin, vanilloid and adenosine receptors, thus playing a role in many different functions around the body without any psychoactive effects. Our products are thoroughly lab tested to ensure that any trace amounts of THC are completely removed.
The short answer: Yes The more detailed answer: Generally, hemp is considered very safe. However, some suppliers of CBD oil do not take the care and precautions that we do at Truth to ensure that the product is of the highest quality. Our hemp is sourced from the best growers in Colorado, USA, and our products are thoroughly lab tested so that we can guarantee that our CBD oil is pure, full of all the beneficial phytocannabinoids, minerals, fatty acids and vitamins you want and without any chemicals, pesticides or heavy metals that you don’t.
Yes, CBD is legal in the UK, and in many countries around the world. In the UK, CBD products sold for a medical purpose must now be licensed. Our products are sold as food supplements, and as such we make no medical claims about their performance. We are members of the UK Cannabis Trades Association, an organisation which represents the hemp and cannabis industry in the UK and which promotes good practice to ensure consumers receive the highest quality products. We adhere to their Association Standards and fully support their work to ensure quality, transparency and good practice within the industry. Will I fail a drugs test if I take CBD? Drug tests are geared towards identifying THC, not CBD or another cannabinoid. If you take a CBD product which contains a trace amount of THC, that THC could register on a drug test. If you’re concerned about this, make sure you only buy brands which guarantee 0% THC. All Truth Naturals products are thoroughly lab tested to ensure that any trace amounts of THC are completely removed.
Truth Naturals sells CBD as a dietary supplement, so we make no medical claims whatsoever. CBD sold for medicinal purposes is required to be licensed under UK law. We encourage you to do your own research using reputable websites like PubMed, where you’ll find studies on the effects and benefits of cannabidiol for various conditions. More and more research is being undertaken by well-respected scientific establishments to find out more about the benefits of CBD for specific medical conditions, and we sometimes refer to studies on our website, but only to inform you of them. Our CBD products are not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease. What research is out there on the effects of CBD? As more in-depth research is undertaken, more potential benefits of CBD are being discovered. Anecdotal evidence suggests that CBD can be used to help manage a number of different conditions. The most prevalent include: Chronic pain - Hemp has been used for thousands of years to help manage pain. Recent research has shown that high concentrations of CBD can activate the 5-HT1A serotonin receptor, which is involved in a number of different processes in the body, including pain perception. It has also been shown to stop the body from absorbing anandamide, a compound associated with regulating pain. Increased levels of anandamide in the bloodstream may reduce the amount of pain a person feels. According to a paper published in 2017, there is substantial evidence that CBD can be used to manage chronic pain in adults. Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting - The same 2017 paper detailed that there is conclusive evidence that taking cannabinoids orally can prevent nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy. Multiple Sclerosis - anecdotal evidence from MS patients suggests that oral cannabinoids can improve mobility issues, however there is little evidence to support this through clinical tests. Social anxiety - a public speaking test was conducted for individuals with social anxiety disorders, to test the effectiveness of CBD in improving anxiety symptoms. The limited evidence collected pointed towards supporting this theory, alongside lots of anecdotal evidence from individuals online. Cancer - There is much speculation surrounding the possibility that CBD can be used to fight cancer. However, much of the research regarding this has not been carried out on human subjects. It is clear that more research is needed.
